He's a good actor (and is a second cousin of mine, too!) but it's hard to think of anyone topping the Duke..
You know, I'm really okay with this casting. In fact, it'll make me look for the film with greater anticipation.
I agree. Jeff Bridges is a terrific actor who is currently very selective of the roles he takes on.
I actually think he'll do a better job than Wayne did of embodying the character from the book.
I think Jeff could do the role but I'm a little dubious as it's such a classic film. BUt it's a western - bring it on
Interesting. I like him as an actor but it will likely make the movie quite a bit different.
After "No Country For Old Men" and Bridges turn in "Wild Bill," I believe that they could pull it off. What I don't understand is why they want to do a direct remake? They could do a composite of The Duke's films like they did with three of Hammett's stories in "Miller's Crossing."
